About Me
Hi, my name is Katie Brouwer. I am a mom of two little boys and have been married to my husband since 2016. I serve moms and families by providing them with education, resources, support, and care before, during and after birth. Both of the births of my children were supported by an amazing doula who helped my husband and I learn, process, and thrive in pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. I found that there can be so many aspects of pregnancy and birth that are out of our control but choosing my doula and knowing that she would be there, brought a sense of ease. Because of my experience, I want to help other moms create the same supported start to their motherhood!
I am known for being an organizer, foodie, and a caring friend. The things I am most passionate about in life are loving God, spending time with my family, and helping others.
Why hire a doula?
As you prepare to give birth, you are creating a team of support. Your team includes a doctor or midwife and eventually nurses and hospital staff. When you hire a doula, you are adding a member to your team who is hired directly by you to provide continuous care during your transition into parenthood. Statistically, having a doula increases the overall satisfaction of birth experiences, regardless of how your labor unfolds.
As a doula, I do not:
- Perform any clinical tasks
- Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
- Make decisions for you
- Speak to the staff on your behalf
Birth Doula Package
- Free consultation over Zoom
- Phone and email support throughout your pregnancy
- Two prenatal visits at your home to discuss labor and delivery options and practice comfort and relaxation techniques
- Resource list that includes local and online pregnancy, postpartum, parenting and feeding support and connections
- Labor support during which I will join you at the hospital and provide hands-on, continuous support until your baby is born
- Birth "snapshot" photography (15-20 photos telling the story of your labor and birth)
- Postpartum visit over Zoom or in your home to discuss your birth story and answer any questions
My fee is $800 for the services described above. The first half of the doula fee is due at the time of signing the doula contract. The remainder is due at 37 weeks.
